Recently, I had the pleasure of attending The Name is Vidyasagar concert at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil in Kuala Lumpur, organized by Venus Production. Vidyasagar is a renowned Indian music composer, director, and singer, and his concert was a truly unforgettable experience.
Vidyasagar is a musical genius, and his concert was a celebration of his incredible talent. Vidyasagar made his debut as a film composer in the 1989 Tamil film Poo Manam and nicknamed as Melody King working for over 225 feature films, he is the recipient of a National Award, multiple State Awards and five Filmfare Awards and is widely regarded as one of the finest and most acclaimed composers in the history of Indian Cinema.
The concert opened with a bang, as Vidyasagar took the stage and performed a medley of some of his biggest hits, including “Malare Maunama,” “Arjunaru Villu,” and “Kaatrin Mozhi.” The crowd was immediately on their feet, singing and dancing along to every word. Vidyasagar performed a variety of songs, from his early days as a composer to his more recent work. He also sang a few songs himself, and his voice was simply mesmerizing.
One of the highlights of the concert was when Vidyasagar brought out some of his special guests. He performed with several other singers and musicians, including Sweta Mohan, Harsha Vardhan, Tippu, Sivanggi, Madhu Balakrishan, Ajay Krishna, Vrusha, Sreesha, Narayanan, Srivardhini, and more. The energy on stage was electric, and the crowd went wild when Vidyasagar performed his iconic song “Hey Saloma” from tamil movie Subash.
I was also impressed with the professionalism and attention to detail of the event organizers, Venus Production. The event door opened on time, and the concert started and ended on time. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the venue was clean and well-maintained.
Overall, the Name is Vidyasagar concert was an amazing experience. Vidyasagar is a true musical genius, and his concert was a celebration of his incredible talent. I highly recommend seeing him perform live if you have the chance.
